Already in October, the air smells like Christmas. The temperatures drop, the warm jumpers and scarves are unpacked and we drink more tea than coffee. We do this to keep the inside warm and often forget about the outside - our skin. Our largest organ suffers particularly in autumn and winter. The cold outside and the hot heated air inside stress the skin, irritate it and make it taut, which is why it ages faster. This is why many people develop facial wrinkles during the cold season. What can be done about it?

1. Take a sauna instead of a hot bath

What could be better than a hot bath after a cold walk or a hard day at work? How we love to do that! Just soak in it, feel the warmth and let the body be really pampered.

Unfortunately, hot baths are not good for our skin at all. This stresses the skin and also drains it. For this reason, you should not bathe too often, not so hot and not longer than 20 minutes. If you have very dry skin, you should only shower every other day in winter.

A good alternative to the bathtub is a sauna. Unlike hot water, sweating is incredibly good for our skin. It opens the pores and allows the dirt particles and sebum deposited in them to flow out. The pores can breathe better and absorb more oxygen. Skin ageing is slowed down and the skin looks healthier and more youthful.

2. More moisturiser

A true anti-aging tip for winter is more moisture. Due to the temperature differences, the skin dries out much faster and therefore loses tone and elasticity. For this reason, winter skin care should be moisturising and rich at the same time. Because the cold temperatures outside can cause small cracks in the skin.
