Reducing wrinkles or preventing their formation - that is what many women want. While men look experienced and quite interesting with such "traces of life" and grey hair, some ladies are not comfortable with it. We reveal five effective tips on how to reduce your wrinkles naturally.
Wrinkles are part of growing old and are rightly called traces of life. Nevertheless, many of us want to reduce and get rid of these unwelcome signs of age. Expensive preparations are often used in the fight against ageing: Botox and hyaluron treatments as well as anti-wrinkle creams and lotions. In addition, some actresses swear by so-called beauty drinks that are supposed to regenerate the entire organism from the inside out.
Yet very simple and much cheaper methods can effectively reduce wrinkles. Before we present these, we ask ourselves how wrinkles actually develop.
Why do wrinkles appear?
However, only 20 to 30 per cent of wrinkle formation depends on our genes, a long-term study by the University of Southern Denmark found in 2018. The researchers observed 11,500 adults from the Copenhagen area over a long period of time. Appendix of the data collected, they concluded that only 20 to 30 per cent of our wrinkles depend on our genes. The large remainder is caused by environmental influences and our lifestyle. "Ageing never affects just one organ, it is always the whole organism that ages. External changes are therefore related to the entire ageing process and can be an indication of the state of our body," says Martin Denzel from the Max Planck Institute for the Biology of Ageing in
But what exactly are these factors that influence 60 to 70 percent of our wrinkle formation and what can be done about them to prevent the formation of wrinkles, to soften them and to reduce those already present? We present five effective tips here.
Antioxidants prevent the formation of wrinkles
As we all know, true beauty comes from within. For this reason, you should pay very close attention to which foods end up on your plate. Above all, eat antioxidants. They prevent so-called free radicals from penetrating our skin more easily. As the skin becomes thinner with advancing age, they can penetrate the skin barrier almost undisturbed.
Antioxidants include carotene, zinc, selenium, vitamins C and E, sulphur. Dark berries, such as blueberries and blackberries, are particularly rich in antioxidants. These are real anti-aging miracles that can also think the daily requirement of vitamin C. Berries also taste great in breakfast yoghurt!
Speaking of yoghurt. Our skin contains a lot of collagen, which is made up of protein building blocks. Sour milk products, such as yoghurt or buttermilk, contain a lot of proteins. This makes these foods a real anti-wrinkle killer. Green vegetables, such as spinach or broccoli, also provide a radiant fresh look. So include sour milk and green vegetables in your ration!
When buying a cream, make sure it contains important antioxidants. These include vitamins C (is responsible for building collagen) and E (protects the cells) as well as the coenzyme Q10. It supports our cells and also acts as an antioxidant. Its effect against wrinkles has been proven in many studies.
Water for inside and outside
The skin is our largest organ and consists of 65 percent water. It is therefore no surprise that we should make sure we drink enough fluids! Make sure you drink water and unsweetened tea.
Besides drinking, you can care for your skin with good cosmetics that bind moisture. The magic words here are: hyaluronic acid and squalane. Hyaluronic acid is a moisturiser. A distinction is made between high-molecular and low-molecular hyaluronic acid. The smaller the molecules, the deeper they penetrate the skin and can thus supply the deeper skin layers with moisture.
Squalane, on the other hand, is a natural oil that protects our skin barrier and prevents moisture loss from the skin. In this article you will learn more about the natural oil squalane.
Sleep a lot and smoke less
Have you heard these tips too often? Despite their simplicity, they can work wonders. The Egyptian queen Cleopatra did not praise beauty sleep for nothing. Our skin can recover best at night. It is not exposed to environmental influences and the facial muscles are usually relaxed. In addition, our body secretes growth hormones that initiate cell regeneration. If this process is disturbed or shortened, the skin will look sallow and wrinkled the next day. Therefore, try to sleep between seven and eight hours a day. Your skin will look refreshed and fresh.
Besides sleep, there is another simple tip to reduce and prevent wrinkles naturally: stop smoking. Nicotine ages the skin earlier. Wrinkles appear much earlier than in non-smokers and the whole face looks quite sallow.
Facial gymnastics against wrinkles
Facial gymnastics or also called facial yoga enjoys great popularity. It has finally been recognised that regular exercise is not only good for our bodies, but can also get the face into shape. Whether you can "iron out" your wrinkles with it, however, has not been scientifically proven. But one thing is clear: as with sport, you should exercise your facial muscles regularly. The best time to do this is in the morning when you get up or in the evening before you go to bed.
Facial yoga improves your blood circulation, which leads to a good supply of nutrients. In addition, more oxygen reaches the skin cells, accelerating the natural regeneration process. Read here how sport affects your skin appearance.
5. Wrinkles adé thanks to acetyl hexapeptide
Since this article is about reducing wrinkles in a natural way and preventing their formation, we will not present invasive wrinkle treatment methods such as Botox or hyaluronic acid injections. It is much easier and absolutely painless to reduce wrinkles with the active ingredient acetyl hexapeptide. This is applied to the skin in the form of a serum or gel (not injected!) and patted in with the fingertips.
The active ingredient inhibits acetylcholine, which means that the facial muscles contract less and the skin is not strained. If it remains relaxed, hardly any wrinkles appear. In contrast to the neurotoxin botolinum, acetyl hexapeptide does not paralyse the muscles, it only relaxes them. The expression lines are smoothed in this way and the formation of deep wrinkles is prevented. Your radiance is natural and radiant.
The effect of acetyl hexapeptide on wrinkle reduction has already been proven in clinical studies. For example, the research team led by Dr. Antonio Ferrer-Montiel at the Universidad Miguel Hernández in Spain examined the effect of creams and serums containing acetyl hexapeptide. The results of the study showed that the depth of wrinkles could be reduced by up to 30 percent with a 30-day application.
Acetyl hexapeptide is therefore a good, cheap and needle-free alternative to Botox.
The active ingredient contains in our BOTOLIFT refresh . BOTOLIFT refresh by Cellusana contains acetyl hexapeptide-8 as well as hyaluronic acid, which additionally plumps up the skin. The product provides noticeable relaxation of the facial muscles, effectively softens wrinkles and reduces the appearance of fine lines. The contained canona oil also makes the skin smooth and supple.
